New Website for Berufskolleg Gladbeck

Problem Statement

The Berufskolleg Gladbeck was looking for a redesign of their web presence. They cooperated with the WHS and a competition was held within the WED module. Students built various Adobe XD prototypes in different teams and the winner got declared on the 25th of June 2020. Two students of the winning team continued to build the final website with WordPress. Several questions came to their minds: Where to start? What functions does WordPress provide us with? How can we be as close to the prototype as possible, without making the website inefficient?

Idea and Concept

The previous design of the website should be adapted to the modern, external appearance of the school. The main focus of the modernisation was the acquisition of new students and their ability to select the different educational programs. Visitors should therefore be able to go directly to the page „Your start with us“. In addition, the latest news and information should be available quickly.

Implementation

A breakdown by degree was implemented to make it easier for potential students to find the right course of study. The three main colors of the logo are reused throughout the website, and several symbols and images are used to make the interface appear more friendly and easy to navigate. The column structure of the web pages makes them appear more tidy and clear.
